To demonstrate the capability of solar energy to produce electricity in Gig Harbor, PenLight, in conjunction with the Bonneville Power Administration, installed a 4,000-watt (4 kW) solar photovoltaic system. The array was installed on the south side of the PenLight building in 2006. The system is comprised of 20 solar panels manufactured by Shott Solar. We updated our solar inverter to the latest technology in August 2014.
