AARP Driving Course

Drivers over the age of 55 may qualify for lower auto insurance rates by taking the AARP Driver Safety Program. The 2-day/4 hours per day course is $15 for members and $20 for non-members. Freedom from Tobacco

Free weekly support group on Tuesdays, 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

This highly successful CHI-Franciscan Health program is available to those interested in quitting tobacco, nicotine, or vape products, struggling with relapse, or wanting to help others quit and stay quit. Homeschooling Parents

Longbranch Improvement Club

The Longbranch Improvement Club (“LIC”) was established in 1921 with a mission statement “to encourage any activity for the betterment of schools, homemaking, roads, marketing, dairy, poultry and all its branches”.  This all volunteer organization maintains a clubhouse, originally a school gymnasium that is now on the National Historic Register, as well as the Longbranch Marina. The LIC holds numerous events throughout the year to benefit the community, including: “Kids and Christmas”, “Trunk or Treat” at Halloween, Fiber Arts the first Saturday in October, along with fundraising events which enable camp and college scholarship programs.  For more information visit the Longbranch Improvement Club website.

Loving Hearts

Loving Hearts is a group of local volunteers who knit and crochet for charity.  We make hats for chemo patients and the backpack program for children.  We also make baby items, blankets, wheelchair/walker bags, scarves, prayer shawls, and prayer squares.  We meet in Gig Harbor on the second and fourth Tuesdays from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Waypoint Church, 12719 134th Avenue KPN, Gig Harbor.  We are looking for more people to join our group and always accept and appreciate yarn donations.  For more information, please email Betty or call Virginia at (253) 884-9619.

The Auxiliary meets the second Tuesday of each month from September through May. Meetings are held 10:30 a.m. in the Green Point Dining Room at St. Anthony Hospital.
