We pass along a friendly reminder to ensure the area surrounding your meter is free and clear of debris, vegetation and your pets or farm animals. That way, we can safely test, maintain, repair and upgrade this vital equipment.
- Here are some simple tips to protect your animals and our PenLight team:
- Keep animals away from your meter area. Please notify us if you have a dog or other large animal that is allowed to roam the space around your meter.
- If you have a locked gate, please provide us with a key or code and ensure all pets are kept away from our staff while they are working.
- And a few reminders about your home and meter:

Clear the area around your meter of debris, stored materials and vehicles. Especially in the spring and fall growing seasons, frequently trim any vines or plants near your meter and the pathway to it.
