Deborah “Debbie” Wittmers, CPA is the Owner and Managing Member of D. Wittmers CPA, PLLC in Gig Harbor, Washington. With more than 30 years of experience in public accounting, Debbie specializes in family wealth services, income taxation, and retirement planning.
Debbie holds a Master of Taxation from Golden Gate University and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Central Washington University. She is a Certified Public Accountant and an active member of the Washington Society of CPAs and the American Institute of CPAs.
Debbie founded her CPA firm in 2016 to provide comprehensive tax planning, compliance, and strategic advisory services tailored to each client’s unique financial goals. She serves as a trusted advisor on complex income, estate, gift, and trust tax matters, working closely with attorneys and financial professionals to support multi-generational wealth planning. She oversees all firm operations, ensuring technical excellence, regulatory compliance, and personalized client service.
Prior to launching her firm, Debbie spent 20 years with RSM (formerly McGladrey) in Tacoma, Washington, where she served as Family Wealth Services Director. In that role, she led the local tax practice, directed complex engagements, mentored professional staff, and contributed significantly to business development and client retention.
Deeply committed to her community, Debbie is involved with the Rotary Club of Gig Harbor, Tacoma Estate Planning Council, and the South Sound Planned Giving Council. She has previously served in leadership and treasurer roles for the Children’s Museum of Tacoma, the Diabetes Association of Pierce County, and the South Sound Sports Commission.
Debbie is recognized for her integrity, long-standing client relationships, and dedication to both professional excellence and community service. Debbie has been a resident of Gig Harbor for over 25 years and is eager to bring her business acumen, leadership skills, and client service expertise to the Peninsula Light Board of Directors.
