Local Students Put Solar Energy to Work at the Maritime Gig Fest
During Maritime Gig Fest weekend, dozens of Purdy and Voyager elementary students held a friendly competition in the inaugural Solar Boat Challenge. It was all part of a science program learning how to harness the power of clean energy.
Called Solar 4R Schools, it is an ongoing partnership among PenLight, Harbor History Museum, Bonneville Environmental Foundation and Peninsula Schools.
We are glad the sun came out to help us make the most of this fun afternoon.
