Board of Directors Election Voting Period

Posted: February 1, 2021, 7:00 am

March 29 to April 26, 2021 – Vote for the PenLight Board of Directors

At PenLight, your vote matters.

Because PenLight is a member-owned and operated electric cooperative, the democratic process allows members to vote in the annual cooperative board election. As a cooperative, we encourage members to voice their thoughts and ideas. You have the opportunity to vote in the board of directors’ election and attend the annual meeting, where election results for three open seats are announced.

Members maintain equal status and work together for the good of the cooperative and community. PenLight adheres to these seven guiding principles:

  1. Voluntary and Open Membership
  2. Democratic Member Control
  3. Member Economic Participation
  4. Autonomy and Independence
  5. Education, Training, and Information
  6. Cooperation Among Cooperatives
  7. Concern for Community

Those elected to the board of directors are fellow members who represent you and your voice in how your electric utility is run. Ballots are mailed to PenLight members at the end of March and should be returned in the provided postage-paid return envelopes by the listed deadline.

The annual meeting is Monday, May 3, at 5:30 p.m. Details to follow.

Election results will be announced and the annual Treasurer’s Report will be presented.

A question-and-answer session follows. If you have questions, call Britni at (253) 857-1567.
