Everyone likes to have a nice, green lawn. However, some chemicals that are used for yard maintenance can harm your water supply. Watering the lawn (or in our area, the frequent rain) results in those chemicals on your lawn seeping down with the water. The nitrates in these chemicals can then enter the water-bearing formation, or aquifer. This activity can eventually render a well or an entire aquifer undrinkable.
Please, be a good steward of this natural resource and use only environmentally friendly products that do not leach harmful chemicals into our water sources.
