Whole House Surge Protection

The first line of defense against incoming high-energy, high-voltage transient surges coming from outside the home is the Ekstrom Low Profile Meter Base Surge Arrester. The SurgeGuard™ is installed at your home’s service entrance and dissipates the energy of the surge and reduces it substantially before it reaches your electrical appliances. This level of protection is enough to protect hard-wired appliances such as dishwashers, heating systems, and fluorescent lighting. Available for both 200 Amp and 320 Amp services.

NOTE: The Meter Base Surge Arrester will not provide protection from surges entering a home on cable television or telephone lines. Point-of-use protectors must be used in these cases.

Point-of-Use Surge Protectors

In addition to initial protection provided by a whole house surge protector, Leviton Point-of-Use devices supply a second line of protection by further reducing the surge to an acceptable level for electrical devices to which they are connected. Point-of-use devices also protect your electronics from surges that originate inside the home, one of the major sources of electrical surges.

The combination of whole-house surge protection and point-of-use surge protectors provides the best possible protection.

Leviton Duplex Receptacles

Leviton’s 7280 duplex receptacles provide hard-wired, point-of-use surge protection for electronic equipment used on 15 Amp & 20 Amp 125 Volt branch circuits. The receptacles come with matching-colored wallplates and are suitable for a wide range of industrial, commercial and residential applications. It provides a LED monitor/indicator light that shows protection status at a glance and an audible alarm (that can be disabled). Backed by Leviton’s Limited Ten-Year Warranty. $30.00
