Payment Options

Whether you'd like to average your yearly bill so each month's bill is the same, or if you just want to save yourself the time and expense of writing a check every month with automated payments, we've got the plan for you!

Budget Payment Plan

The Budget Payment Plan enables you to average your yearly bill so that each month’s bill amount is the same. This plan keeps your bill predictable and steady.

If for any reason your usage increases or your budget amount was not accurately estimated, you will be billed for the difference in April during the "True up" month. Also if you experience a significant drop in usage, you would be refunded any overpayment of $25.00 or more. In order to apply for this payment option, you will need to have a 12-month billing history at your current address.

Users of the Budget Payment Plan can also use the Automatic Payment Plan, allowing your monthly payment amount to be automatically deducted from your checking account or credit card. Open enrollment for the Budget Payment Plan begins in February and all requests must be submitted by April 15.

Automatic Payment Plan

Are you interested in saving the time, energy and expense of writing a check for your utility bill each month? Do you travel often and find you don’t have the time to pay your bills on time each month? Then call our Member Services Department at 253.857.5950 and ask to use your credit or debit card to make your payment each month (Visa, Mastercard or American Express).

Paying By Phone

Our automated phone system gives you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week access to your account. By dialing 253.853.1388, you will enter PenLight’s automated phone system.

Once in the automated system, you will be able to get information about your account including last payment received and current amount due. You can pay your bill using Visa, MasterCard or America Express and you can also update your phone number or learn about PenLight's products and services.

In order to pay your bill by phone, you will need to have your member number and account number. You will be prompted to give these numbers resulting in one 13 digit number. For example, if your member number is 012345 and your account number is 0067890, the correct number to enter would be 0123450067890.

To make this process as painless as possible, members who are having trouble can dial “0” at any time to reach a live member services representative 8:00 a.m. to Midnight Monday through Friday.
