Get Paid Back for Going Green
Take advantage of the options PenLight provides to lower your power bill, help the environment, and receive rebates for upgrading your energy efficiency.
Here are the details.
Window Weatherization – Receive $6.00 per square foot up to $1,000 on qualifying measures. Pre-existing windows must be single pane, single pane with storms, or double pane with metal frames. Replacement windows must have a National Fenestration Rating Council (NFRC) rated u-value of 0.30 or lower and be installed in an electrically heated home.
Ductless Heat Pumps (DHP) – If you are heating your home with electric baseboards or wall heaters, a ductless heating and cooling system may be the energy saving answer for you. Receive up to $1,500 for installing a qualified DHP where there is permanent electric resistance heat. Find trained installers at www.goingductless.com.
Air Source Heat Pumps – Save when you install and save on your monthly power bill. Rebates between $400 and $1,500 are available for qualifying heat pump models installed by PTCS Certified Contractors.
Refrigerator Recycling – Running an extra refrigerator or freezer can add hundreds to your utility bill over the year. Have JACO Environmental come pick up your working refrigerator or freezer and get $20.00. Call JACO directly at 877.577.0510.
Duct Sealing - Over time, the ductwork throughout your house can work its way loose. This leads to high-energy bills, and poor heating and air circulation. PenLight members with electric forced air systems can receive free ductwork testing and sealing.
Water Heaters - Heating water is a large portion of a household’s energy consumption. Approximately 14 percent of the utility bill is spent on the energy produced by a home’s water heater. Qualifying models will receive a $50 rebate.
