Hundreds of members join Project Help program
We asked our members for help, and you responded.
More than 700 Peninsula Light Co. members have signed up to donate funds to Project Help since July, raising the total number of participants to over 1,000. Project Help is a program the utility established along with Key Peninsula Community Services to provide community members who qualify financially with a $200 credit on their electric bill. It operates annually from November through April, when electric bills are at their peak due to seasonal temperatures. Peninsula Light Co. matches all donations, dollar for dollar.
There are three ways to contribute: (1) a one-time gift, (2) a recurring monthly donation, and (3) by rounding up your monthly bill to the nearest whole dollar. Visit our Project HELP page for more information.
Peninsula Light Co. started a demonstration solar project in 2006 along with Bonneville Power Administration, and we updated our solar inverter to the latest technology in August 2014. Twenty solar panels were installed to comprise a 4,000-watt photovoltaic system on the west side of PenLight’s headquarters. Click to see live solar production totals.
